About Me
I am a photographer and graphic designer with a passion for the environment. I want a future for my children where they do not have to worry about how clean their air and water is all the time. In order for that to happen, society as a whole has to embrace the fact that we cannot continue our unsustainable lifestyles.
My photography consists mainly of the nature that surrounds us, as well as the ways we harm and pollute it. I believe it is important that we do not ignore what we leave behind, otherwise we begin to treat it like its normal and the trash begins to pile up and choke our natural environment. The other type of photography that interests me is liminal spaces, which can most easily be describes as spaces of transition, empty places that are typically active but now dormant. The main reason I became interested in this genre of photography is because I enjoy the fact that a single liminal space can evoke such a wide array of emotions depending on the viewer, from nostalgia and comfort, to fear and ennui.
Besides my own work, I also am very interested in collecting and restoring Found Photography. I have amassed a large collection of old photographs and slides that I plan to scan, restore and share on this website. Every photograph is a fascinating window to the past, these windows could be lost to time if they are not preserved. What is probably most fascinating about them is that a majority of them are vernacular, they were shot by amateurs who at the time never knew how beautiful the shots they were taking really were, both subjectively and historically.
